Spirit of Atlanta Drumline warming up for Finals, Drum Corps International World Championship.

Spirit of Atlanta finished in 11th Place this year, out of 12 Finalists.

TOPICS: Education; Music/Entertainment
KEYWORDS:
I was a Finalist with Spirit of Atlanta for 4 years.

This drumline looks and sounds pretty clean and solid, I think we should have scored better.

Anyway, some late night motivation for y'all.

Apparently the 'YouTube' link works, but the 'watch' link doesn't. I really do try to check everything. Anyway, enjoy.

I was in the snare line in my high school band, ‘74 thru ‘77. These cadences are just a bit more complex than the “eight bars and a cymbal crash” we used to perform.

Attended DCI regional competitions in Michigan in ‘76 (Pontiac) and ‘77 (Ypsilanti), my high school marching band was never the same after that.

I marched ‘83-’86. We went to DCI North in Ypsilanti a couple of times. I think I still have a plastic ‘EMU’ cup and a T-shirt that says ‘Ypsi Ypsi Ypsi’.
