(Newser) – Missing from this year's Miss Universe pageant: regular co-host Andy Cohen. The competition is being held in Russia on Nov. 9, and the country's anti-gay laws "make it unsafe for the gays who live there and gays coming to work or visit," Cohen tells E!'s Giuliana Rancic (who has co-hosted with him the past two years). He adds that he "didn't feel right as a gay man stepping foot into Russia," considering "the law is that anyone under suspicion of homosexuality can be arrested." A Change.org petition with nearly 24,000 supporters so far is asking the Miss Universe organization to hold the pageant elsewhere.
I think it happened once 90 years ago. But there was likely a gay dude there too. Its just that today there might be one straight dude there....
remember hollywood.
If this extends to ANY MOVIES or television with homosexual performers, then hollywood suits will drop homosexuals out of acting in order to protect the bottom line.
no more deviants in any on screen productions because it will damage the 60% overseas market.
He LIES - like most liberals.
The law does NOT make it illegal to be gay. It makes it illegal to distribute gay propaganda around minors.
So, he’s full of sh!t.
Russia MUST stay strong on this issue - NO COMPROMISE.
An apt graphic depicting sanity in a sodomized world.
