it is fun! and he had his supplier cut the samples bigger than you would find at home depot, to have a better idea of what it will look like. xshub came home and i think we have agreed on one. we are going to replace our common light fixture [remember you and i have the same one?] with something wrought-ironish, and i don’t knwow how xshub will feel about it, but i have been looking at some that are tiffany glass, but sort of Mission style. isn’t that kind of straight lines instead of floral etc? i do not know decorating vocab, but i know what i like and i’m pretty decisive. xshub’s feelings get hurt bc he will suggest something and i sound like i’m rejecting it out of hand [bc i kind of am ROR]. Like one of the granites, xshub said, this would be ok if you painted the kitchen a light blue. And i visibly recoiled and said, well we aren’t doing blue in here. Again, it’s all just gut feeling but blue seems like a cool/cold color and a kitchen seems should be a warm color. I am thinking peachy/sandy something like that but with more of a defined color than the slightly yellowed off white i chose the last time.

I have a sky blue kitchen. It looks right with the white cabinets. My neighbor has a dark blue kitchen with maple cabinets. She read that cool colors in the kitchen keep people from overeating. Overeating doesn’t happen in our kitchen anyway, it’s the snacking in the family room that is the problem. I have to replace our light fixture since it has a crack in one of the glass panels done by the floor people two years ago. It’s not that noticeable so I’ve delayed the change until I find something I like. I love the option of the candlelights or the down light for focused work.
