Massachusetts pays its welfare recipients what would amount to a pre-tax wage of more than $24 an hour, and ranks third in the nation in terms of dollars doled out per welfare collector, according to a new study released by the Cato Institute.

The libertarian think tank based in Washington D.C., estimates the total value of the state’s “typical” welfare package — which can include cash, food, housing and medical assistance — if it were taxable income, at $50,540, more than most entry-level wages.

Mark Levin quoted on his show yesterday that a single mom with 2 kids can get $65,000 in tax-free assistance in Hawaii....hell, I might even consider a sex change and adopting 2 kids for that kind of retirement....

What can you really say?

We all knew this to be the case, even if the TV told the sheep that anyone that mentioned a politically-incorrect fact like this was “CWAZY!”, “NUTZ!”, or “one of THOSE people...”.

Meanwhile, many of you will grouse on a website about it, instead of organizing a protest of it, in front of the welfare office.

We lost this fight, and the language of truth, when we refused to counter the left, and expected “our guys” to do it for us.

The problem with places like Massachusetts is that $24 an hour is equivalent there to $12 an hour in flyover country.

And here is the real scam.
The people at the bottom who will work, get squeezed when prices go up, The middle class get squeezed when the prices go up.
The Celtic mob ties the minimum wage the union wage prosper and act as enforcers for the Kerry elites that can afford the cheap army wages.

In my part of the country, and I do mean country, the welfare kings and queens will simply not work. They are fine with what they have and the side work that they do for cash. Most are living more securely than working people since they have full medicade medical care, child care, food stamps, subsidized rent, etc., etc., etc. With a family of four their breakeven for a paying job is about $60,000 a year. They are mostly uneducated, unskilled and unwilling to work so their best option might be $30,000 a year without benefits. Their motivation price is WAAAAY beyond what they could ever be worth and so they aren’t looking for work. It just isn’t worth their trouble to get a job and so they louse around, play, do odd jobs for cash, operate a mechanic shop on the side for cash, relief truck drive for cash. You name it and if it is for cash, isn’t steady, doesn’t require too much initiative, thought or effort and you’ll pay cash they’ll do it.

A neighbor tried to hire a guy to look after his 6 or 8 rent houses and help around the farm for $18 an hour and the guy didn’t give him the time of day. Said he couldn’t afford to work for that kind of money. Asked what it would take and he said at least $35 an hour plus benefits. He has no clue that would be way more than the guy clears on the houses. Doesn’t care, doesn’t want a job.

We pay for it all.

For the most part, General Sherman was right.

you know, assuming they’ll never cut a dime from the welfare budget, the only real question is, how long can the system last.

I see two answers. one, a crash, because there’s not enough working people to pay for the rest, or two, a slow, inexorable redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the welfare class, where there is never a crash just more and more working poor.

And, in classic Taxachusetts fashion, the solution will be to force an increase in the MinWage.

I’d imagine the benefits would be the same for a single dad with two kids.

I wonder if foster kids would be good enough.

No doubt Massitaxus will fix this by raising the minimum wage to $20 an hour. Problem fixed!
