I believe a tax targeted specifically at guns would be an “infringement”, and why it would be unconstitutional. But Maybe we should all buy yet ANOTHER gun before they do it, just to be safe... ;-)

Why would you think that. Look at the cigarette, alcohol, and gasoline taxes we have. Diesel fuel is especially interesting as there is a hefty tax on it even though it is identical to heating oil which has no tax. They put a different color dye in each one and if you put heating oil in your vehicle and you are found out, it is nearly a felony.
