Oh, I remember the last “Comet of the Century”, back in 1973.

Comet Kohoutek was supposed to put on a spectacular light show as it swept past the sun at the start of the New Year.

I remember as an 8-year-old freezing my A** off as I looked for it in the evening skies—night after night—and never seeing the damn thing.

Later, scientists admitted that for an object (supposedly) visible to the naked eye, it was extremely weak. You could barely see it in the close-ups they put in the paper.
