“I write right handed, throw left handed and when I realized I was left eye dominant a couple of years ago and started shooting left handed, my marksmanship improved nicely. Much more so with a rifle than a handgun.”

My wife is also cross dominant; left handed but right eyed. Realizing this when she first started shooting with me, I taught her to shoot right handed. And, she’ turned into an excellent shot. I think there’s a higher probability for converting a shooter to use their off-hand than their weak-eye. I seen people try eye patches and such but they don’t seem to help much.

For me that was the funny thing. I am not ambidextrous, just sort of partly right and partly left handed. So my handgun accuracy is better with my dominant eye side (left) but only marginally so.

I was told by a progressive teacher that because of this I shouldn’t be able to read. Har har.
