Word For The Day, Thursday, September 12, 2013 – bordereau
dictionaries ad nauseam | 12 September 2013 | Thursday's sub

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

bordereau \bawr-duh-ROH; Fr. bawr-duh-ROH\, noun
a detailed memorandum, especially one in which documents are listed.

Example sentences:
At the War Office, Dreyfus was told to take a letter from dictation, "'so phrased as to include some passages'" from the bordereau.
-- Richard Clark Sterne, Dark Mirror, 1994

“We need a photograph of the bordereau,” he said when he met Dubon at his office that evening.
-- Kate Taylor, A Man in Uniform, 2011

Etymology:
Bordereau comes from the French word of the same spelling, which is a diminutive form of the French word for board. It entered English in the late 1800s.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

nope....There is something on one of those channels called White Queen that i saw advertized that i want to see also. Looked Tudor-ish. Did you ever see Trouble with the Curve? clint eastwood, amy adams, justin timberlake. Watched it with xshub, we both liked it. he still questions Justin’s sexuality, though LOL.

Did you see that army girl beauty pageant contestant with the tattoos?

Isn’t it ironic that she tattooed the Serenity prayer across he abdomen.

Not really very wise.

Prequel?

I guess I have to take him off my likely to live list.

With three episodes left, it’s a pretty damn small list.

Did you see Life of Pi? odd movie, odd book. xsboy had to read it for summer reading one year at Gonzaga, so i read it along with him. The movie did do justice to the book though. xshub’s eyes just rolled back in his head at it though. when we were held hostage in the basement, during the kitchen re-do, we watched a few things. he watched something, and i can’t recall what it was now, about some SU player from the olden days, who was supposed to play in the Olympics in Germany, but the US coach held him out becaues it was in Hitler’s Germany. And he was one of the most famous sports announcers. One of you will tell me his name i am sure. I found that pretty fascinating also.

A+ for you! It’s noisy here today. The dogs keep reminding me there is a stranger outside working on the house.

I watched parts of it on a plane. Watched. Not listened. No real point to dialog when its a boy and a tiger.
