A crocodile is not a creature you are likely to enjoy an encounter with at any time but having one come lunging out of the water when you're nude sunbathing is particularity unsettling. In Broome, Australia, a recent croc warning sent nudists scrambling.
It happened Monday on Cable Beach in Broome, a tourist town in Western Australia some 1400 miles north of Perth. A crocodile about 4 metres long was spotted by life guards and by at least one swimmer. The alert went out and the clothes, and shoes, went on as the naked beat a hasty retreat.

Australia's saltwater crocodiles are dangerous to humans and in recent years attacks have been more common. A man was killed by a crocodile as he swam in the Northern Territories last August and last November both a male and female child were killed in separate incidents, also in the Northern Territories.

I guess the croc likes his entrees without any dressing.
Cotton is tough on the Croc’s digestive system. I hear it gives them gas.
There’s a Gary Larsen cartoon about this. Two crocs are leaning back after digesting a swimmer, and one sez to the other... “That was incredible. Just pink soft meat... delicious...”
I imagine just a little bit of wigglin' and jigglin' was going on.

This post is meaningless without pictures :>.
I like how they show a picture of a Gharial crocodile at the link...fish eater native to India.
I’ve been to a nude beach before. You don’t want to see pictures!!!
Yeah, I want to see how big that crock is too.
a real man would have hopped on top of that gator and ridden him like a pony ;-)
You’ve been to the wrong beaches.

I’m hoping an Australian beach is more scenic...
All beaches in Oz are topless .. lots of nude beaches. Aussies are not hung up on nudity like some other countries (USA comes to mind).
Nude beach or not, I'd probably jump out of my clothes just skeedaddling out of there if I saw a croc coming at me on the beach.
Agreed - that crock is nekkid. And that pointy nose is also troubling. Do they have Snapping Crocks?
They advise hikers to wear little bells on their clothes so they make noise when out hiking. The bell noise allows gators to hear you coming from a distance and not be startled by a hiker accidentally sneaking up on them. This might cause a gator to charge.
Visitors should also carry a pepper spray can just in case a gator is encountered. Spraying the pepper into the air will irritate the gators sensitive nose and it will run away.
We were also told to keep an eye out for fresh gator scat, so you have an idea if gators are in the area. When I asked how to identify Gator droppings, he said they tend to contain small bells and smell of pepper.
