That story made me laugh!
As a middle school principal, we’ll see some pretty interesting clothing come through the school. However, shorts, and skirts MUST be at least fingertip length or the student has to call for appropriate clothing. No bare bellies, tank tops or any other sort of skimpy clothing is allowed either.

As a parent of two high school daughters, I can tell you we don’t buy this type of clothing for them, but kids will buy some of their own or borrow from friends. Mine don’t even think of wearing it to school though since I’m in the same building. (Grade 6-12 building)

She bought it with her babysitting money. When I started earning my money babysitting I bought my own clothes. But my parents still had a say about it. But they were a little more relaxed about it. That one must have slipped by them. We still laugh about it.
