FULL TITLE: Inside the mind of the Navy Yard killer: 'Paranoid' gunman was being treated for mental illness and was left 'devastated after Thai girlfriend dumped him when she refused to move to the U.S.'

Washington Naval Yard gunman Aaron Alexis began treatment for serious mental illness in August as friends of the shooter today revealed he was devastated last year when a Thai girlfriend left him broken-hearted.

According to anonymous law enforcement officials, Alexis, 34, sought treatment from the Veterans Administration for paranoia, insomnia and possible schizophrenia just one month before his shooting rampage which claimed the lives of 12 people on Monday.

Prior to this, Alexis visited Thailand in 2012 where he spent his time frequenting massage parlors and was crushed when a girl he liked rejected his offer to come and live with him in the United States because the woman 'didn't like black people.'

Indeed, such was Alexis' fascination with Thai culture, Buddhism and Thai people that he traveled to the south east Asian country in March and April of 2012.

According to the UK's Channel 4 News, he spent 45 days in the country and was shown around by Parin Suthamtewakul, a relative of Nutpisit Suthamtewaku. Gunman: Accprding to NBC Washington, this man Aaron Alexis, 34, from Fort Worth, Texas is the Navy Yard shooter

Nobody that I've heard has said anything about him ever being deployed. Since when do Reservists get VA benefits, unless they were activated? Is this something new? Not earthshaking, just curious.

Reminds me of the Status I saw on the Facebook page of one of my son’s female Navy friends: “One more bad relationship away from having 27 cats.”

The scrubbing, the lies, the revisions, the false histories:

“Let the Games Begin.”

Please tell me how this deranged loser got a top security clearance; an automatic rifle and ammo; a top-of-the line auto; a room with a view at a swanky hotel, etc. etc. etc.

He was supposed to be so broke that he took his meals at a Thai restaurant in exchange for waiting tables. He was so dysfunctional that even the kind Buddhists couldn’t get through to him to “manage his anger”.

This maniacal robotic piece of crap couldn’t even tie his own shoelaces. (I bet he had velcro closures on his sneakers.)

And we are to believe that he pulled this off on his own.

The left will use this as an excuse to track “mental illness” even more, to prevent people from owning guns.

Not really the issue.

Here we have a dude that has had previous cases where he went off the deep end and started shooting stuff up.
He also has mental health issues.

He might have even been dishonorably discharged.

Most states have laws about who can legally purchase/own guns. Here in Washington, he would not have been able to buy a firearm.

Somebody dropped the ball, and I am betting CURRENT laws were not enforced.

Passing more laws and taking away everybody elses guns isn’t gonna do a darn thing to stop a maniac like this guy.

she refused to move to the U.S

Probably the smartest move she ever made.

Is security at a military base not an issue here?

Security at most US military bases is very lax. They have become so complacent, 12 years out from 9-11-2001.

Subject: Yes, sir.
Interviewer: And the police were involved.
Subject: Yes, sir.
Interviewer: Hmm… Have you ever attended a Tea Party event?
Subject: No, sir.
Interviewer: Do you have a Ron Paul bumper sticker on your car?
Subject: No, sir. Nothing like that.
Interviewer: Would you describe yourself as a “patriot”?

The guy is 34.

Claims he was stressed out by 9/11/01 NYC attack.

He would have been 22.

Was he even in NYC?

I guess the MSM is checking this out.

The loonies used to be kept safe from harming themselves and others in an asylum. The left released them and now they walk the streets in hopes that they’ll stay on their meds and off meth or bath salts. It ain’t working, just like every other liberal nutbag idea they force on the rest of us.

http://www.keyetv.com/news/features/featured/stories/officials-gunman-treated-mental-health-issues-4612.shtml

“suffering a host of serious mental issues, including paranoia and a sleep disorder. He also had been hearing voices in his head, the officials said.”

I posted this early this morning but it got yanked within two seconds by the mods for it being a dupe even though it was from AP and CBS so do with it what you will.

The local news in Austin, TX had an interview with his brother in law last night but I can’t find it on their site today. It was part of a story on him claiming the government was discriminating against him and that his benefits weren’t enough to pay the bills.

He has a brother in law? So he must have a sister or a wife. All the news accounts skip over anything about a family. I guess he sprang full-grown from the head of Al Sharpton.

“One more bad relationship away from having 27 cats.”

His roommate in TX said he asked Alexis to move in with them after a noise disturbance with with neighbor. Yeah, shooting through the neighbor's floor might be considered a noise disturbance by some. The roommate also said Alexis moved out from them because he didn't like their cats.

Some FReeper/s found his parents and apparently he grew up in NY. Of course, the msm is too interested in playing the Texas card. They can’t have another East Coast raised mass murderer so soon after after the Boston Bombers and Hasan’s sentencing.

Lots of us were told medical treatment would be free if we served our hitch and was honorably discharged. Nobody told me it would be means tested just when I started to need it.

I’ve had some upstairs neighbors that sure made me think about firing a gun through the ceiling. I said “think” about it.
