Both slant 6’s, 170 & 225 we good.

The 318 “Lean Burn” engine was one of the biggest pieces of junk ever.

A point to consider is that the Honda 50cc engine is about the most produced engine in history spanning about 55 years. They must be doing something right.

from what I understand it takes a LOT to “break” a Honda!

Thinking of getting a wrx with one of the turbo’s in it when this one hits 100000...

Do it. My WRX just turned over 115,000 and I intend to run it until it drops. And that will be awhile. Probably the best car I've ever owned.

The old SVX had a 6-cylinder Boxer that is a thing of beauty. I have one garaged with 213,000 miles on it and the engine still sounds as sweet as the day I bought it. It's now a race to find parts before they get too expensive to restore.

“I always figured that a Rolls Royce Merlin shoe horned into my 1940 Buick Special would be just about the world’s best auto engine.”

LOL I would pay money to see that. I would pay a lot of money to drive it! That hood might be long enough to make it work.

I recently had to buy my wife a car so I could get her old Lexus LX470. We needed something that seated 7 as she frequently picks our grandkids up and does stuff with the girls group at our local parish.

We looked at offerings from Lexus, Mazda, Infinity, and Acura, and they were close but the EcoBoost on the Lincoln MKT blew the others out of the water! Plus the model has AWD, which is necessary here in Colorado Springs.

I’ve had Firebird TransAms, Nissan Z cars, Porches, and other fast cars but this thing is a rocket sled. With two turbo’s it has zero turbo lag and doesn’t lose a single pony to altitude, which is important since we live at 7000 ft.

We live off a steep road and I love dusting BMW’s, Mecedes and Jaguar’s in this 7 passenger crossover ‘Nana van’.

Super high tech also with Ford Sync, smart cruise control, media jukebox with built in hard drive to rip CD’s to, most controls on the steering wheel and automatic parallel parking.

For quite awhile I’ve mainly owned Toyotas and Lexus but these new Ford/Lincolns are real game changers.

We rented a Ford Fusion and drove it from VT to FL and back. Even with 5 people and all of our luggage it got over 30 MPG. It had plenty of passing power on the highway, even hauling all of that weight around. I was very pleasantly surprised.

a five liter engine....got 30 MPG? cool!

Yep. I kept checking it—at the same pump—because I was astonished.

Taurus still has a V-6 option, but the styling is the same turd-shape as the new Fusion.

Got a 2013 Taurus Limited for my wife.
Has a 288HP engine, has the Mustang look on the front end, spoiler on back, 20" wheels, hooks up real good 0-60MPH, not to bad.

Has the option for the V-6 twin turbo, 365HP, didn't get that, but that sucker has to hook up big time considering what the 288HP does.

“from what I understand it takes a LOT to “break” a Honda!”

I owned an ‘81 Accord for a few years, and I managed to break mine a few times. I had to replace a clutch because I dumped it at a light and managed to break the pressure plate!

Yes; the Taurus has the V-6's, but the Fusion does not.

I don't like the look at all, but some do, of the 2014. Previously, with the v-6 and the style, I was sure we'd get a Fusion, but the styling change turned us away.

Ford has great products. Alan Mulally coming from Boeing was a great hire.

Given Boeing's problems with the 787, it's a shame he can't run them both.

What car or pickup can you get those in?

The point being, if auto engines were so designed (like commercial application engines), instead of possibly 250,000 miles, consumers would be seeing 1,000,000 miles out of their automobile engines!

Yup, the Fusion is a homely thing, about like the Lincolns we looked at.

They really botched the front end look on the Lincolns on the 2013 version.

Even my wife said, "No way", LOL!

She originally wanted a Mustang, but the Taurus Limited caught her eye, silver with black trim.

That just doesn't fit with any product we buy and business models, keep 5 years, junk out, buy new.

Don't ya know, it's the American way, LOL.
