Now there's a real thirsty engine! I have one in a Jeep GC.
It’s a great engine...in theory.
Just put another one in my 2004 Dakota.
Head gaskets 3 years ago with Reman heads then it decided to drop a valve seat into a cylinder on the highway about 2 months ago. 140K miles. Big whoop.
Kaboom.
Replaced it with an ATK reman unit.
Multi-layer head gaskets.
Oil return holes in heads and block drilled larger.
Different pistons to run the heads cooler.
Pinned in valve seats.
Motor has plenty of balls but the newer versions are supposed to be better engineered.
