I believe a 6.5 Swedish Mauser, a 7mm Spanish Mauser, a 7.65 Belgian Mauser, an 8x57 German Mauser, a 303 Enfield or a 30/06 Springfield would all go right through that tiny piece of armor. It probably would stop pistol bullets or shrapnel.

The Italians called these “Schmedlap Cycles”. There’s always one troublemaker in every outfit. The Italians would take that guy and put him on a Schmedlap Cycle for anti-aircraft duty.
“When you see the enemy jet, fire at it. We loaded a radar-guided missile for you. Then, drive away real fast. You can go faster than any jet.”

If they enemy is attacking the Hotel Le Meurice on rue de Rivoli then perhaps this contraption might be useful.
In the Ardennes, not so much.
