After what has to be one of the worst weekends, in terms of match ups and actual games, of college football in recent history nothing much changed in the Top 10. With the volatility of the computer rankings THE Ohio State University dropped from 3 to 7 and OkState moved into the top 10 displacing TAMU.

After the last two Michigan games, I am surprised the Akron and UConn are not breaking into the top ten new. :eyes rolling:

That whole “THE Ohio State” thing is idiotic. They need to move on from it, it is not funny, or clever.

I would say, “ROLL, TIDE, ROLL”, but I watched the game, and they need to do a lot of improving if they are going to fulfill my dreams, and have a three-peat.

Oh, well, ROLL TIDE. they’re my team, win or lose.

When is the last time a team won a game 76-0 and fell 4 spots in the rankings?

One thing to remember per BCS rules the computer rankings are not allowed to use margin of victory so when OSU stepped onto the field against a horrible, even by FCS standards, FAMU the computers were going to punish them.

That game Saturday sure makes one pine for the days of Manning, Werfel, Spurrier, and Fulmer. I remember when UT-FU was a prime time game.

Roll Tide! However, I agree that Bama needs to improve to achieve the three-peat.

The Tide are going to rely more heavily on McCarron this year, before he just had to be the game manager, but this year he’s going to have to be the difference maker.

The Bucks scheduled FAMU as a replacement for Vandy which pulled out leaving the Bucks with an open date to fill. It’s not as if FAMU was their first choice.

Of course, Nebraska, Purdue, Michigan and Penn State have all hurt the Bucks strength of schedule with their lackluster play so far. That kicks the bucks in the shins too.

I agree. This is also a big change for a Saban-coached team. The defense is too dang young to dominate like in the years before.

Absolutely. The heavy role that the computer averages of the geeks who never played a down of football in their lives are and always were an abomination. The death of the BCS can't come soon enough.

Case in point...Wisconsin got jobbed by the Pac-12 refs at ASU, are currently getting jobbed by the computer rankings used to calculate the BCS and will get jobbed at the end of the season after they win the B1G championship game -- even if they finish 12-1. Oh well, 4 straight Rose Bowls isn't completely awful.

Great point, thanks. I keep forgetting the HAL 9000 does all the figuring

A solution:
1) Teams expecting to finish in the top 20 must leave the first weekend in November open.
2) At the end of the season the 31 ranked team will be paired with the #20 ranked team for the fist Saturday in November the following season.
3) The game will be played at the lower ranked team’s stadium.
4) Based on 2012 rankings
Notre Dame at Northwestern
Alabama at Boise State
Florida at Michigan
Oregon at UCLA
Kansas State at Nebraska
Stanford at Northern Illinois
Georgia at Clemson
LSU at Oregon State
Texas A&M at Florida State
South Carolina at Oklahoma

Now those are games worth seeing.
Note Ohio State and Penn State were not bowl eligible

Navy racked up 92 points against a big ten and colonial league team allowing only 42. They were ranked 44 and moved up 5 to 39, yet still can’t break the top 25 - I call BS. Oh, wait that means Bowl Series not Bowel Series right???
