I do think that Rubio has redeemed himself as long as he doesn’t support invaders staying in the US and he gets out of that committee. He’s burned his bridges and really helped Cruz with the filibuster.
True that he is on a path to redemption but he needs to make a clear statement and repeat it over weeks that his mistake was being new to Washington and that although it is true that immigration needs reform, it must never be done while the democrats are in power because they will abuse it to their own ends, and because enforcement has been weak no matter which party is in power.
In short, his timing was off and his experience was lacking.
