Easy fix. This day and age, there's simply no excuse for not having one of these on your kitchen countertop. Third World tested and PowderMonkey approved for turning "brown water" into potable water....

That was my immediate thought - get out my Big Berkey and sanitize the water - put the water in the top and pure water comes out the bottom.
I would not drink that contaminated water. I wouldn't want to hear later, “Oh, we made a mistake, that water WAS contaminated - go to your nearest emergency station to take your FIRST shot in a series so you don't drop dead.”

That is NOT clean water.
I don’t care what the government says about how safe it is. There is STUFF in that water and I don’t even want to imagine what it is.
And there’s no way to know that poop isn’t involved.....
