Support Boehner?
Self | 9-6-2013 | KittenClaws

Why can't we give Boehner a show of support?

Will you call John Boehner and tell him we support him standing strong?

Yowza leapfrog0202!

Of course, I’d have never called Reid. That’s gutsy, gal.

All I know is, so far he has held his caucus together. The Conservatives led the way and they dragged Boehner kicking and screaming into this. I think Boehner realized that Republicans will get blamed regardless; if Obamacare is a failure , in 2014 the media will blame Republicans for it’s failure.

He did his risk assessment and concluded that fighting makes sense since with gerrymandering, no one is losing their seat in 2014, unless they go against a Conservatve candidate.

I agree. I went to his Facebook page and thanked him for standing strong. Positive reinforcement usually works better.

Boehner would GLADLY cave in a heartbeat if the pressure is not kept on

To the public, the war is over, and yet again, the federal government beast has won. We have public employees shutting down public sites, ordering people off of unmanned trails, closing parks that require more staff to close than it does to keep open. With that piece of legislation, we've given up the fight, and the public knows it. The one piece of leverage we had, we gave away. I'm not sure what there is left to support Boehner on.

I thought this fight was about funding everything but Obamacare.

Furloughed workers may be government lackeys, but they have wives and children. These women and children need to eat and have homes. If you have a vote to protect women and children you do it. We are not like Harry Reid.

So, help him deliver. That’s all I’m asking.

Boehner is weak. We must strengthen him for our own purpose.

Has a speaker ever been tossed out of office before?

Jim Wright comes to mind.

You have way more faith in Boehner than I do.I think ultimately he will screw us and the country.

I have no faith in boehner.

I have faith in US being able to strengthen boehner. I think hell cave without seeing he is supported.

It's about the numbers.

True enough.

But everyone responds to an atta boy.

Piffle.

Our beef -- the public's beef -- is not with the federal employees. It's with the administration and the Democrat Senate.

With this move, all sympathy for the federal employees being "caught in the middle" is vamoos and the issue remains focused on Obamacare -- where it belongs.

So long as the sole issue of the shutdown involves Obamacare, we've got the upper hand -- because the public rejects Obamacare by an overwhelming 2-to-1 margin.

Everything else is a distraction.

Many of us noticed Boehner fell for rhetorical traps and Dem talking points when answering questions. Some of his actions are also questionable but if he is doing the right thing for the wrong reasons, I’ll still take that and leave it to others in the House and Senate to show him the way by example. Praise when he does well, constructive criticism when he doesn’t is certainly better than flat out obstinacy and cynicism concerning anything he does.

He got a sequester which finally slowed budget growth, he kept 99% of us from getting a tax hike, he will allow no cap and trade bill, he blocked gun control.

I would say he could use a little support.

Thanks for not giving in to democrat threats. The shutdown is preferable to the tyranny that would result if obamacare is implemented as part of the budget.

I support you as you do the will of the people.

I could be wrong, but you sound exactly like a Democrat troll, trying to demoralize us patriots.

EXACTLY.

Whoever said, “Let’s NOT support Romney”, should be really really embarrassed now.

So, let’s not seek to prove our moral “superiority” by LOSING...

It is imperative that he stick to his guns.

I called his number in Washington. His message box is full. He has always caved before, so we will just have to wait to see what he will do.

Sometimes the man finds the moment. Ted Cruz. Sometimes the moment finds the man. Maybe, we can hope, Boehner has seen something or realized something that causes him to know what most of us here have known since 08. Obama is a Marxist tyrant.Maybe he now knows what he has to do, what his role in the American drama is, and he has accepted it. Not counting on it, given Boehner’s craven past, but willing to have hope for the man. That is not to say I trust him. He must be watched like a hawk, and if he looks ready to fold, conservatives need to put a stop to his speakership.

I’d like to think we are big enough people to do so.

It’s easy to gripe and moan. It’s hard to support someone you basically don’t like.

We win this fight through congress or we lose.

With the attitudes that prevail here, I suspect there will be no resistance to the real tyranny that will arise when we lose this battle.

Oh, they’ll bitch and moan, and hand in their arms, like good little boys and girls.....they’ll hand them in because they’d rather blame boehner than themselves.
