The three adult children of radio host Casey Kasem have filed a legal petition to gain control of his health care.
The filing says Kasem is suffering from advanced Parkinsons disease and is being isolated from his children, friends and family members by his wife.
The petition for conservatorship filed Monday brought a long-running family feud into the courts. The applicants, Julie, Kerri and Mike Kasem, contend that Kasems wife Jean refuses to tell them the name of their fathers primary care physician and they are unable to check on his condition.

Why do you put the term Palestinian in quotes?
“See, when you come out of the those goddam up-tempo numbers, man, it’s impossible to make those transitions.”
I think the Kasem children are seeking control of his money
I have to agree. Wife of six months, that would be one thing but three decades? Unless they have proof that she is doing something to him they should butt out.
I love the kids demanding to know who his doctor is —
Are they being deliberately obtuse regarding the law in that respect???
And even if they knew the doctor it is against the law for him to even acknowledge that he is his doctor much less talk with them.
Trusts are not ‘all that’ either. We have been in court going on 3 yrs now about one.
Once father in law started getting dementia hubby’s sister took FIL down and had him change the trust putting her in charge of everything. She then had him declared incompetent and stole every dime. We got her last accounting the other day. Over $700 thousand dollars and she says that the estate is broke except for a $150k house and when that is sold the estate owes her $7200. In 2 1/2 years.
Sad but too true.
Gotta love that. Dublin is in England?
No legal instrument can guard against undue influence over
a confused elder. Unless a trust is set up as irrevocable the
person creating it can always change it....and NO method
of transferring wealth and assets is guaranteed perfect.
Trusts however are usually superior to wills.
