Obviously Hannah didn't get the memo that that was supposed to be the official story.
Why would she make up this signal fire story since the official story makes her look better as a damselle in distress.

That’s a good point — as a matter of fact a great point.
Her fingerprints may be all over that gun, and she knows it, and the sheriff knows it, and this Russian Roulette story may be her way of trying to get out in front of it and explain those fingerprints away.
It’s funny how that Ambien didn’t wipe away the memory of her playing Russian Roulette or her brother upstairs in the house trying to yell — whatever that sounds like — or her being hungry on the trip and them not stopping or that stop at that gas station where she is alone inside with the attendant.
It must have been that new sleep medication — Convenient Ambien.
San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore said both Hannah and DiMaggio were "awake" when they were captured on surveillance video as they passed through a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint in Pine Valley at midnight.
That means the other guy who wouldn't say if the checkpoint was even opened just wasn't talking. One would think the BP would have at least stopped a 40 year old guy and a teenage girl passing through at 10 pm. The BP would also have seen her zip tied and her tear stained terrified face. The BP would have been even more suspicious if a teen girl was zonked out. Uh, huh. Yep, sort of blows her story.
Yes, great point about the fingerprints on the gun. 1) bad guys don't give loaded guns to their victims and 2) kinda hard to play Russian Roulette handcuffed.
I'd like to know what kids at her school think. She caught a lot of flak from them when she was texting and tweeting on a new phone within hours of her rescue. She was smiling and living it up at the funeral fundraisers. And two months later, her story is still changing. Come on, Hannah, keep talking.
Oh, yeah, and what about her mom’s car not being there when it was? If she can’t tell the truth about a simple thing like that, then you know she’s an habitual liar who has been lying so long she doesn’t know what the truth is.
And where do you find time to play Russian Roulette when you are trying to rig the house with incendiaries and packing for a trip to the wilderness???
And what’s she complaining about having to carry a 50 pound bag in the wilderness — I see third graders coming home from school with bags about that heavy and they don’t complain.
In her next interview someone will ask her more about the signal fire — I can’t wait for her to elaborate on that.
Something else, what about the cat? He'd already killed the dog so why would he care one wit about the cat? He wouldn't. OTOH, she would. She would know the cat would burn up in the house so she put it in the carrier and took it with them on their little lovers' adventure. She claims he wouldn't let her eat but flip flops to him wanting her to eat. But who fed the cat? Who cleaned up after it? Seriously? Carting a cat to the wilderness? The horseback riders who saw them thought they were camping around the area and didn't mention a cat. That means, they were already settled into camp and the cat was at camp. So, why risk going out on the trail that day? Why risk her trying to escape or bumping into people and her crying out for help? Yeah, no doubt, she was running this game.

Again, she's all happy, happy. This time while in NYC doing the Today Show. She's got her friends and they're posing for pics and going to dingbat Miley Cyrus' concert. Either the Today Show footed the bill for them all or she's going through her DiMaggio inheritance. Excuse me, but most people would still be very troubled, grieving and staying close to home especially as it was right at her brother's 9th birthday. They wouldn't immediately be out partying. How many boyfriends has she gone through the past two months? The latest of her many manicures and pedicures is a tribute to her mother and brother. (Note to my family - please don't embarrass me and my parenting skills by nail polishing my name onto your toes and call it a tribute and certainly don't show it all over fb and national tv)

Then what was her grandmother talking about getting Hannah’s cat back? Some reports say it was his cat, other say it is hers. If it was his, then who in their right minds would want that freaks’ cat? Either way, you’re nuts to to go in a kidnapping spree and hiking through the wilderness with a cat. What bad guy lets his victim soak her pretty little manicured toes in the river while playing with the cat? Bring on the bears! There are three cats - hers are Puss Puss and Oliver and his is Princess. Some articles say the cat is gray and she has lots of fb pictures of a gray cat so who knows which is which. Unless the cat was in a carrier at the time of the “rescue”, he’d have been long gone at DiMaggio’s first shot, much less after the volley from the LE (you know, that shower of shots when she was next to him giving survival tips or, no, wait, when she was far enough away from him for the LE to target him or, no, wait when he grabbed at her arm or, no, wait...).
That book is already out of date. Everytime she opens her mouth, out comes a whole new chapter.

So I checked it out and sure enough his vehicle had VTRS:
which means that the commenter just may be right. With VTRS that vehicle would have been readily located and tracked without an Amber Alert.

Got to house but didn’t see mom’s car even though mom was tied up in garage and car was found right outside the garage after the fire.
Given Ambien and slept all the way to Idaho although she is alert at Border Patrol checkpoint at midnight.
Dimaggio was starting a signal fire and fired 3 SOS shots before being shot to death by FBI.
