The 2-year-old son of NFL star Adrian Peterson died Friday in a South Dakota hospital after he was allegedly beaten by a man dating the boy's mother, the Sioux Falls Argus Leader reported.
A release from the Sioux City police department said the toddler died "from injuries sustained during the aggravated assault Wednesday." It said it was witholding the child's name.

Out-of-wedlock parenting is one of the deadliest risks to children. We often blame the mothers, but what business do fathers such as this have, dropping children with no commitment to protect them?

People who get sexually involved without proper family values, i.e. holding off from sex before creating a commitment to life-long marriage, cannot then complain when it all goes haywire in the courts after the fact. This may not be the case with all young people; but it is the case in far too many split-ups. The children are hurt the most by parents who do not protect their futures.
I know nothing about this case but I would bet the recipe is:
Take two parts alcohol with one part drugs
Add 3 parts lust and 5 parts of baby crying
Stir until mixed well and serve
Note: May be dangerous if lust exceeds 3 parts or baby crying exceeds 5 parts. Or, for that matter, if alcohol and drugs exceed their specified amounts.

I feel horrible for that innocent child..how can anyone look at a beautiful 2 year old child and beat that child to death..pure evil, no other way to describe it
I doubt AP wanted custody. No doubt this poor babe was a “mistake”. He should have kept his zipper up. Immorality leads to tragedy. And the mom should be executed with the boyfriend. I imagine this wasn’t the first time her thug lover abused the child. The children are always the ones who suffer when adults are irresponsible.
Here we go again. Tragically, this monstrous crime happens all too frequently. So what despicable thing did this child do that brought about his horrendous death? And I ask again - WHEN is the murder of a child going to be a capital offense, punishable by death? The angels are weeping.
