32 bit. Whatever it is, it takes entire control of the processor, locks out mouse, keyboard and video card processor and accesses the hard drive. Can't open task manager to see what's running, and I have deleted all JAVA and Adobe flash. Running Norton Internet Security which says system is clean with daily scans. Happens with IE and Firefox, no sign of identity theft, ransom ware or problems with Internet purchasing.

I think it is interactive adware but can't find out without access to task manager.

Well, get rid of Norton. I am running Avast, little to no interference from it.

And I run NoScript add on for Firefox to block unwanted flashware. It is quite entertaining because I will sometimes pull up a site at work that I regularly visit at home and not recognize it because of all of the ad bloat on the page that I don’t see here.

Tried in Safe Mode yet? I also suggest you D/L and run Malwarebytes (free).

I have not had any problems with 24.0. I've been using Mozilla browsers since Mozilla 1.0 for Unix.

Try running Spybot Search & Destroy and then add Ghostery as an extension. Ghostery will block all sorts of internal ads and tracking bots in web pages. Turn everything on and then turn off the things you want to get through. Very clean. You might also check out FasterFox.

Go Navy, Beat Army.

As others have suggested, I think you've got an adware/spyware problem. Malwarebytes is a great program - its basic version is free and I'd highly recommend it.

If you go to the FF "Tools" menu and choose "Add-ons", you can check out the lists of "Extensions" and then "Plug-Ins". If you've got a hijacker of some sort in your browser, it may well show up there.
