Any Good & Fairly Reliable Ways to MAKE MONEY ONLINE for a Low Tech Tea Partyer?
October 13, 13 | Lee Martell

I'd like to supplement my income by using the internet. I have gone to certain websites to read up or inquire about certain ways to produce income, but most the time, I am overwhelmed by the myriad of choices. There are some work at home sites where the numbers and combinations of choices are literally inexhaustible.

I like to read (and occasionally write) about social issues, some science, some psychology, religion, international commerce as with the EU, particular types of music and visual arts. I have also produced much creative writing. The subjects I just listed may be interesting to me, but likely too specialized to produce any regular flow of work until I establish some sort of brand. To profit from something I have originated, from what could be known as my own Brand or style, could be years in the making, and then only after I have settled on a technique of communication to strengthen and refine. That sounds too much like the life of an artiste, which is notoriously iffy, not what I realistically expect to profit from or even find right away.

I would settle for the boring data entry type online job if I could find a website or a small bunch of website that were known to outsource work to semi-professionals with unremarkable (but adequate) typing skills. I don't have Photoshop experience. I know I need it. I've tried taking computer classes before at evening classes for adults. I usually get so bored I can't stand being in the class for another nanosecond. I wait for the next coffee break, go straight to my car and drive off the school parking lot. I drive off, happy that as an adult, I can go if I damn well want to go. Still I do need to update my skills. My math needs sharpening as well. I like studying science, languages, food matters, behavior modification matters as well. These topics come into play during my work as a mental health caregiver. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Hopefully, I won't be sent to a website with bucket loads of free spam and cookies for all. I'm sure there's money to be safely made for most any type of person, even me. What has worked for some of you?

You and many others here have some fantastic ideas. I just got out of bed, so I’m late to respond this Sunday morning. The potential for income is definitely there. You mentioned Day Trading. Do you need a Series 7 license for that? The only time in my life that I ‘enjoyed’ math was years ago in the 1980s. I was studying Options, round lots, puts, Calls and Margins. I though it fascinating to be able to control or profit in the movement of a GOLD or TITANIUM account while risking low percent of a margin. I never did pass that test, but remain aware of that market. Soros shouldn’t have all the fun, right?

As a senior with property who is still working, I need occasional casual labor. I cannot find it. I live in an area w/low unemployment and anyone with transportation and skills can either find a job or get benefits. We are managing by ourselves, but cannot wait to sell out and downsize to a property needing less work.

Ha! I live in an area with high unemployment and I STILL have a hard time finding an occasional laborer for things I can't do myself. I was an urbanite most of my life and will never get used to certain aspects of the boonies. I have a very big, very old house and some things I simply can't do alone, but 9 out of 10 contractors in the yellow pages don't even answer their phones, and those who do are looking for bigger jobs than I've got here. Replace a gutter, fix the porch steps, cut and remove a dead tree, etc. They usually won't do it and if they do they do a bad job. They usually don't finish it either. You can't even find teens to shovel snow and mow lawn. They all know they can make easier income by signing up at county assistance.

A friend has had a vintage T-Bird for sale all summer. eBay and Craigslist were a bust. I think she was asking $5k, newly painted and detailed and in good repair with new tires.

What vintage is the T-bird? Can you freepmail me a link? 5k for an old 'bird sounds interesting. I once had a number of antique cars, sold them all and only miss one of them. All they did was attract predators. Although where I live now, old cars are almost as common as old boys. :)

I would be willing to invest a small amount, say a few hundred, but only after due diligence on my part. I would also look at reviews online, knowing some of the most extreme opinions may be faked.

It sounds like you make something similar to tapestries, you have my respect and admiration. I have a BFA degree in Fine Arts and what used to be known as Retail Advertising. I was not able to find steady income as an artist and gradually left that skill unused for a long time. I still draw now for myself. One plan is to update my life drawing skills to start teaching at community schools in the area. One does not usually need teaching creditials, such as a CBEST to do these fee classes. I would need a few years just to relearn how to teach others and relax in a classroom setting. But what about you, someone actively using your talents? Have you tried the Galleries and the Seasonal Expos or Farmer’s Markets? I don’t know what today’s packaging design business put together, but your ideas would go well for fabric and custom upholstery design.

You could do simple article writing. Pays around $1 per 100 words, but that is for everything from rewriting articles, writing commentary on news events or generating ad copy.

Stuff-your-own costs $10 a carton with shipping. The machine is available new in box from eBay for under $50 and the makings from on line sources (check around). Takes 1 minute per cigarette. Flavor etc is comparable to ready-mades.

In stressful times, people don’t quit.

Life's hard. Paddle harder.

My advice, get a kayak....and when you are paddling......I guarantee, you'll have no cares or worries.

That’s a reference to a Monty Python skit, “The Piranha Brothers.”

Leave your sense of humor in “Park” this morning?

In stressful times, people don’t quit.

When was the stress on the smokers for smoking? It soon will be. They will quit when they can't afford it, and when penalties make it unaffordable.

Fed govt taking over health insurance and health care, that's a whole new ball game. The govt will have the power to tax cigs out of existence, and smokers along with it.

Bank of Italy (now called “America”) is a rapacious piece of [unladylike word].

They will cheat you every chance they get, and their customer service is totally rotten**.

If what they did to you is legal, it shouldn’t be, and they probably lobbied ($$$$$$) that law until it was passed.

Democrats — SPIT

**They sent us new credit cards, but there was only one in the SEALED envelope. I called them. They ignored me.

Two weeks later, some black man was arrested for trying to use my husband’s card. He was detained by a store’s security until they called us on the job to verify that my husband, a white man, was not trying to use the card.

Because the one card that was sent was in a SEALED envelope that had not been tampered with, someone in the stinkin’ bank must have taken the card and either sold it or gave it to a friend, perhaps to get him in trouble. If so, it worked.

I dumped them like a hot brick and went elsewhere.

I wish you could do the same.

Although a Month Python fan, I lost my sense of humor on this issue after seeing honest business owners get smeared by negative online reviews at places like rip off report dot com. The only chance you have of clearing your name is paying an investigation/shakedown fee to the owners of these review sites.

I hope you don’t think that Wells Fargo is any better ,, they just got caught (again) ... What was it now? Glad you asked..

People with mortgage life insurance ... they would die .. the mortgage life insurance would pay off the loan ,, but Wells Fargo , in the month or so after the insured’s death would tack on late pay and similar penalties... If the deceased’s heirs didn’t know about the insurance and request a “satisfaction of mortgage” , Wells Fargo would ... AFTER BEING PAID IN FULL BY THE INSURANCE ... file foreclosure based on a single months “late fee” that they tacked on after the insured’s death ...

This case cost Wells Fargo a cool $3million ,,, how many THOUSANDS more homes were stolen in this way before they got caught? And Will this change their behavior? It hasn’t so far... http://www.ncbrc.org/blog/2013/09/03/wells-fargo-socked-with-damages-in-excess-of-3-million-again/

We’ve been in this business since 2001 getting steady income with little efforts.

Here’s a link: http://www.marketamerica.com/

Check out two links there. First learn more on top. Second scroll down to overview.

Smallest commission check is $300 and never experience a cut off date. It’s not a question of IF you get a commission but only WHEN within a window of 365 days.
