The Cardinals pitcher took Hanley Ramirez out of the series. This must NOT be tolerated. I hope Ryu knocks Beltran down and out for the series as well. Bastard Cardinals!

The Dodgers CAN come back. It CAN be done. Next games are in L.A. and the fans will be motivated to back their team!

Puig needs to go back to his old batting swing before McGwire ruined it. Gonzalez' bat is going to come alive, you watch. The Cardinals have a powerhouse of a team, with an unbelievable pitching crew but like any team, their overconfidence can also be their downfall.

Hopeful no rains outs and it doesn’t slop over into November again. Game 7 of the World Series is scheduled for Halloween night.

It’s Oct. Baseball should have ended last month.

Even in 1927, the World Series was played in October.

They should reduce the number of post season teams to say, two, however. So we don't risk a .509 team W/L percentage getting into the Series on the strength of two starting pitchers.

As an Astros fan, I can honestly say you are an idiot. Wishing an injury to a player is an honest testement of how low class of a slug you are.

Go Cards. Thank God there are some decent LA fans, because you sure aren't one.

Kershaw held the Cards to two hits and one run over six innings... And the Dodgers still lost. It doesn't look good.

How do the Cards manage to turn it on every year in the playoffs?

Reggie Jackson was known as “Mr October”, played in late 60’s and 70’s. The 162 game schedule came before 1960, I’m sure (remember Roger Maris’ asterisk?) . That would have pushed the end of the regular season close to September 30 , although there were double headers every Sunday and a few twi-nighters during the week. It certainly strted going into October by 1969 when the play off format came in.

Tough to beat that pitching in a short series although the Giants did it last year (I'm still a little in shock over that).

The difference so far seems to be baseball IQ and batting discipline. The Dodgers are swinging for the fences instead of working the at bats. They have left so many men in scoring position it makes me wonder if they have been taking lessons from the Diamondbacks.

I always hate it when Miguel Montero hits a home run because I know I will now see him strike out many times trying to duplicate it. The Dodgers seem to be doing the same thing: every man a home run hero.

Yeah, hitting for the fences every time gets pretty old from the fan’s point of view, because of all the men we get to see stand 90 ft away from home for three outs. Show me a team that is at the top of the HR stats and I’ll show you a team that doesn’t make playoffs, or gets blown away in the first round.

I know Miggy can manufacture runs if he wants to.

Today (October 13) is the anniversary of Bill Mazeroski's home run that won the 1960 World Series for Pittsburgh.

The Diamondbacks' baseball IQ is low. On many occasions I would hear the announcer comment on the pitcher's deadly pick-off record then watch Para get picked off. If the announcer knows not to lean too far off the bag against a particular pitcher, why doesn't the runner know?

That's one example but they do so many things wrong that way.

The Dodgers got to post season on a sheer glut of talent, but we are witnessing what happens when a team (the Cardinals) plays smart baseball.

Just keep those personal attacks coming and stay away from talking about the issue!

I urge you to watch the replay of Hanley Ramirez getting intentionally taken out of the game by the bastard Cardinal pitcher Kelly. Watch Kelly's precision strike here:

Cardinal pitcher INTENTIONALLY takes Ramirez out of the series then acts surprised about it

Yeah, the Cardinals will probably take the series, but job one for them apparently is to injure Dodgers in the batting box.

Also, do you have to tag someone with your glove in order for them to be tagged out? APPARENTLY NOT! Runner Ellis pushes Molina's arm so Molina never touched Ellis with his glove, but.. So what! Rules don't matter!:

Molina never 'tags' Ellis out! (VIDEO HERE)

Ellis was safe at home plate. See my earlier post. He was never tagged out. It’s pretty obvious whose side the umpires were on in these first two games. They also allowed Ramirez to be beaned with no repercussions to the Cardinal pitcher.

Rules do matter. That action is called runner's interference, so he'd be called out.

I grew up a Dodger fan, and I was embarrassed after the World Series in '77 and '78. I wasn't embarrassed by the way the Dodgers played, but by the way they whined about the officiating. When they finally broke though and beat the Yankees in '81 (in no small part thanks to an injured Bucky Dent), the Yankees didn't whine or make excuses, they congratulated the Dodgers and behaved with class.

BTW, the Dodgers lost the first two games of that series and came back to sweep the next four.

The moral of the story: Stay classy, don't whine like a bitch, and never give up on the Dodgers.

Ellis was safe at home plate. See my earlier post. He was never tagged out.

Ellis was out. Technically, it was "runner's interference". The baseline belongs to the runner...unless a fielder in front of him has the ball. In which case, if the runner chooses to advance, he may not interfere with the fielder's attempt to tag him.

This play occurred at home plate, but is otherwise identical to a play in the season's last game several years ago when Alex Rodriguez attempted to knock the ball from the pitcher's hand as he was about to be tagged on the 1st base line. You may remember it as the "sissy slap play".

Ellis was out. Period. And you won't find anybody on the Dodgers' team who would contend otherwise.

1961 World Series Dates: October 4–9

With additional playoffs from the league championship series in 1969. The division series in 81 and now the new 1 game wild card playoff this year it pretty much fills up October.
