In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

dissilient \dih-SIL-ee-uhnt\ , adjective
bursting apart; bursting open

Example sentences:
I imagined the dissilient pod of rumours a creative bureau chief up for promotion might hatch. Stories, once sprung, would snowball out of control, growing more damaging with each repetition.
-- Susan Daitch, L.C., 2002

The court was dissilient, generationally fractured, manned (as it were) by an increasingly impatient and acquisitive nobility.
-- Eric Scott Mallin, Inscribing the Time, 1995

Etymology:
Dissilent comes from the Latin word dissilīre meaning "to leap apart."

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Some will not go quietly, while others die silent.

Parking was not a problem, even with the Luke Bryan concert across the street. The show was really interesting, had some twists and turns. The musicians who have been with Mellencamp for years were excellent. Four of the main character singers were fair but the others were really good. We sat next to some music biz folks who were trying to guess if any of the singing was canned. She thought it might be, he said no way. Since he was a performer himself and I started watching their mouths and movements more closely, I think he was right. I told them it is practically a sin to fake it at the Ryman! Not a show for kiddos though, but we saw several there. Thanks for asking! Go see it, if it comes up there.

You can’t expect me to remember the spelling of obscure words and still be FIRST in, can you?

Oh, I’m not that clever. I shouldn’t be on the same playground with all the punsters here.

There is so much to be said for that. A good band that plays together for a while can be such a wonderful thing. Our bosses had us read some book to try to make us all less lame, and in it they talked about the 10,000 Hour Rule and how you more or less usually have to put in about that much time to be good at something. They gave a lot of examples, but the one that stood out to me was all the time the Beatles put in playing in brothels in Germany. Playing 8 hours a day, for six or sometimes seven days a week, month after month went a long way to both make them great musicians but also to gel together as a band.

So I guess what we learned is Yoko is -10,000 Hours

I’m on tenterhooks this AM. I’m waiting for the representative of a local title complany to bring me papers to sign and to pick up my power of atterney and trust agreement so that I can sell my mother’s house in CA. he has to drive all the way across town to get to my house. Better than me going to her.

For those who are not familiar with Milwaukee, the town fathers (in their dubious wisdom 40 years ago) prevented freeways from being built that would connect the east suburbs (of Milwaukee) to the west suburbs. Everybody has to go THROUGH Milwaukee to get from northeast to far west. The dimwits thought that would help business in Milwaukee. It hasn’t, but it causes all kinds of traffic problems which is why I don’t want to drive all the way to Brookfield this AM. She can come to me.

I’m just hoping this sale goes through as planned.

Andy York(guitar), Dane Clark(percussion), Troye Kinnett(keyboards incl.accordian, harmonica), and John E.Gee(upright bass) made up the band and they were absolutely solid. They been playing with John for 8-17 years and it showed. People complained about the Milli Vanilli thing, but no one ruined music more than Yoko.

Good luck getting it all resolved. It was a nightmare dealing with my dad’s house and the STUPID reverse mortgage he signed. I don’t wish that on anybody.
