I always tell the barber, if he makes a mistake, I can live with it because it grows back...not so sure about that nowadays!
When I was in the Navy in A-School down in Millington, TN (Aviation Machinists Mate) we had an inspection the next day, everyone had to get haircuts. We had this huge guy with a beard, and he didn't get his haircut in time.
So, we are all completely trashed, about twenty of us watching as his friend, who was trashed, was trying to cut his hair for him. He made mistake after mistake, and kept cutting higher and higher , until there was not much more than a mohawk. He was afraid the big guy was going to kill him, but he was so drunk he didn't care.
The guy simply buzzed off his remaining hair, but kept his beard in place. It gave him a menacing, primitive look.
He looked kind of like this, except a little more glazed-eyed, not as chunky, and had stubble on his head instead of shaved. (I just looked for a picture of a bald bearded guy on the internet and this one kind of looked like him!)
The next morning as the officer in charge of us came down the line, he stopped in front of the guy and glared at him.
He put him on report.
I think, if the guy had cut off his beard as well, it wouldn't have been that bad, but no hair and the beard gave him a strictly unconventional look for a modern sailor.
He looked more like a barbarian.

Well, for him, temperature shifts could be a problem...now, if he was warm-blooded, that wouldn’t be an issue!

What is that old saying?
A woman marries a man hoping to change him. A man marries a woman hoping she won’t change.

OMG.
My husband goes to Hair Cuttery and says, "clipper cut 6 on top, 3 1/2 on the side".
Also, I only know this because I just asked him....because of this thread. :P

Too long-winded. You sure you don't like salons?

I get haircuts on a whim and rarely have the same person cut it twice in row. My standard reply when asked how I want it cut is: “Whatever so long as it’s of my eyes and over my ears; I’m a fashion criminal and defer to your professional judgement”.

It’s how I get rid of gray hair - cut it off and throw it away.

Haha...too long winded indeed.
There are some folks who like more depth in the posts they read. Not everyone engages in discourse as if they were sending text messages.
I don’t think I do it all the time, but sure. In any given situation I can be long winded.

"...You sure you don't like salons?" Not to get my hair cut. As a place to see attractive women flitting in and out of, sure.

She doesn’t go with me. But I guide her every scissor stroke.
Well, not really. But almost.
