Nobody asks why the little girl who killed herself didn’t just get off the net for a year or two, at least. Lots of hysteria here.

1. Because kids these days can't just "get off the net." They have school assignments that require them to do research online. Terrible but true. They have no idea at all how to read books or gather information from traditional sources but they have to do work online. 2. Getting off Facebook, etc., would not have helped because this child was physically bullied too. You see what kind of people these are--they are profane, evil savages. A normal child or even a normal adult woman hardly has the aggressiveness or strength to stand up to them. And when the insults, harassment, physical beatings, and isolation face a young kid day after day, all day, it wears down the spirit. Nothing parents or counselors can say about "ignore them" or "they're just jealous" helps. You can't just ignore it when it never stops. The bullied child sees no escape and loses hope. That school where the bullying is taking place is her whole world; she can't imagine being 25 and having a happy prosperous life.

Hysteria, you say? Whose hysteria are you talking about? This is a child whose strength, happiness, self-esteem, and emotional stability were ground down by evil people. Persistent abuse and stalking wears down even adults. Do you have no compassion at all in your heart for a kid who found that even her parents couldn't protect her?

Yet in every bullying thread, there is the I-stood-up-to-the-bullies-and-you-can-too hero.

Didn't these people go to school? Bullies operate in packs. When I was in school, that's how they operated, and they picked on the weak and defenseless. I'm only surprised that more of these poor kids don't commit suicide.

Oh yeah, and I remember the administrators saying that they couldn't do anything about it.

It makes me sick every time I think about it.
