Bama would crush FSU

Hardly. Think of FSU like Texas A&M but with a suffocating defense. If A&M could play defense they would have pounded Alabama this year.

It’s a bye week for the Gators.

It should be a bye week, as in “Bye, Muschamp!”

And that should be caution enough for anyone thinking about hiring AL defensive coordinator Kirby Smart...

I was at FSU from 1998-2002. Completed the Honors program. Graduated cum laude with a BA in English, minor in adolescent psychology and math. Florida State’s academics are on par with some of the best public universities in our country.

And they have one Hell of a football team...

except for undefeated MO and Auburn have multiple losses.

WRONG! Auburn has ONE (1) loss and that was early in the season to LSU. Auburn has and will continue to improve each week. They're number 1 in rushing in the SEC, as of this past week, not sure after Saturday if that still stands. Also moved up from non-ranked to #11 after beating "johnny football" Saturday. Just saying, don't count Auburn out just yet.

LSU lost 9 defensive players who would have been eligible this year to the NFL. They finally have a QB, and an offense, imagine if they had those NFL players back on defense!

Shouldn't you also have to imagine that these former LSU players would have remained academically eligible, avoided arrest or refrained from smoking pot or doing other drugs?

While remianing academically eligible at an SEC school should be an easy task, your supposition requires a HUUUUUGE and wild imaginination.

I hate to admit it, but yep, they look good. I think they're going to beat us by 50.

The Iron Bowl is going to be a good one this year...I think Auburn has a great shot.

And I hope our AD is taking notes as to what happens when you ditch a bad coach.

Listen, Gator, I’ve cheered on the Gators in the passed. My best friend from HS went to UF, and I lived with a UF alumnus for 5 years after college. There’s a mutual respect there. I only root against UF when they play the Noles. Nothing wrong with that rivalry.

If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

FSU will be proven a pretender if they play Bama.

They have one quality win...Clemson. And they have knocked off heavyweights Maryland, Bethune Cookman, Pitt, BC and Western powerhouse Nevada.

In the future they will tangle with overrated Miami and out of the rankings Florida. In between? Wake, NCState and Big Sky power Idaho.

If it is Bama - FSU it will be a snoozer.

Bama playing a two or three loss LSU is not going to help them as much as in the past. I’m an LSU fan. Yes, the way the defense (especially) played Saturday, I believe they could lose to Furman.

The real intriguing team is Baylor....Say they hang 70 on OU like they have everyone else, not that OU is anything great this year, but I think that would show Baylor should be considered a contender.

Keep in mind that the computer polls are like STDs. It counts not just who you played but who the teams you played played.

The SEC gets around this by scheduling Division I-A cupcakes so they don’t count against their strength of schedule.

” If A&M could play defense they would have pounded Alabama this year.”

And if a frog had wings it wouldn’t bump his A__ when he jumped.

Manziel is the only thing preventing A&M from being a 6/6 team. And he can get hurt as we have found out.

Did you play football? I am not against college ball but I do know that most of the college players have a bleak future if they don’t get drafted. I listened to a quarterback talking on tv the other night and he talked like a 12 year old. I guess he was one of the many that graduated with honors?

I tried for walk on in ‘98 and ‘99. Didn’t get past the first cut in ‘98. Made it to second cut in ‘99 but was a call-off for dailies if they needed tackling dummies.

At 6’2”, 350 lb., I was obviously noticeable, but I was more fat than muscle and had bad knees. I had fun anyway.
