dictionaries ad nauseam | 31 October 2013 | Thursday's sub

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

crepuscule \kri-PUHS-kyool, KREP-uh-skyool\ , noun
twilight; dusk.

Example sentences:
But when he awoke at length there was a great Phoenix brooding with spread wings above his prostrate form, its white plumage like a ghostly crepuscule and its red eyes glowing close against his own pallid and fervent face.
-- Arthur Edward Waite, The Quest of the Golden Stairs, 1893

For that is Anayat in the crepuscule, purple and mellow, sparkling and warm and effulgent when there is a moon, cool and heady and sensuous when there is no moon.
-- Arturo B. Rotor, "Zita," 1937

Etymology:
Crepuscule entered English around the year 1400 from the Latin meaning "twilight, dusk, darkness."

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Light shone on Obamacare’s crepuscule
Shows that it’s well behind schedule
And the lies of the man
About keeping your plan
Have dropped his approval to miniscule

Still raining out there. Looks like a treadmill day. Dreary, just like it would be if I had to work at HHS. A+ for you!

You’ll appreciate this. My youngest had a costume party this weekend and put together her costume. Coverall worksuit, respirator, goggles, gloves and made herself a transformer. She built and strapped the parts to herself so she looked like an RV and then when she stood up, a meth cook. I was horrified and proud of her ingenuity at the same time.

And nothing better proves Obama’s early descent into ineptitude and stupidity than his speech about Army medics with strong arms as corpuscules ....

Trick or treat, smell my feet...

The blue, crepuscule hour
Was the time of an Autumn day
That used to be my favorite-
But now that has gone away

Obama’s rapacious minions
Stalk a website in the dark-
Fishing for Obamacare fees-so
Tonight, you’d better park

Yourself behind a locked door
Sit where you can’t be seen-
And curse those Obama voters
For even spoiling Halloween...
