Five million a year just for advisors and financial aid for 900 illegals. That doesn't include the actual cost of education.

Isn’t this aiding and abetting criminal activity? Liberals
seem to be immune from the law like this is a dictatorship
or something but what it really is, is that the republicans
are letting them get away with it. So the republicans are
either spineless on in on it with them.

People like this should be brought up on charges. We DO have LAWS regarding immigration but nobody seems interested on enforcing those laws, hence the reason why Governor Brewer and the Arizona Legislature decided to attempt to ENFORCE EXISTING FEDERAL LAW in their state, only to be SUED by the Federal Government for doing so......

Sounds to me like the Commitment to all Californians is to make them pay to educate illegal Mexicans.

This is clearly unconstitutional. It discriminates in favor of national origin (among other things). Where is the Equal Protection?

What is the fascination these people have for uneducated, non-America loving dregs?

Will the USA have 50 states in 20 years, under our current Constitution? I doubt it.

The Janet Nepolitano must have told the Board of Regents that they approve of her giving this money out. She apparently brings the Chicago way of management to the University of Kalifornicate. So much for the tax paying folks and the other students.

(edited for clarity)

In her first major address since becoming the president of the University of California system, former Department of Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano declared that she will approve $5 million in *American* taxpayer-generated funds to ease the tuition burden for *Mexican citizens*.

“I am setting aside $5 million *of taxpayer money* — right now, for this year — to support these *foreign* students with resources like trained advisers, student service centers and financial aid. Consider this a down payment—one more piece of evidence of our commitment to all Californians *and Mexicans*.”

The key here is who manages the money and the relationship to napolitano. One suspects that very little of the dough will actually reach a student.
