JFK spoke at Rice stadium...I don't know where he spent the night Houston or Dallas. JFK would have been a Republican today. He was more conservative than some of today's moderate Repubs. Robert Kennedy accused MLK of being a communist.
Things have really changed.
I just read the notes that Gov. Connely’s wife Nelly wrote about that evening. She said they came from San Antonio to Houston for a dinner and then went to Ft Worth where they spent the night and then on to Dallas.
I distinctly remember that in her later years, after John Connely died she talked about suspecting LBJ
