Referring to the old Rolling Stones song “Sympathy For The Devil”, where Mick as the devil sings “I shouted out ‘Who killed the Kennedys?’ when after all, it was you and me.”
I can’t believe that I couldn’t remember the Stones and went to the Dion song.
That is quite a gap.
I heard a program on KLOS one time, years ago. The claim was that the original lyrics were “who killed humanity”. During a break, in recording the song, news came over the radio that RFK had succumbed to the bullet wounds, to his head, from Sirhan. I can’t verify the truth, but supposedly Mick rewrote the lyrics, subbing “The Kennedys” for “humanity”.
