It was some sort of soup mix I fed it. rice, lentils oats. it didn’t eat much, but I figure it’ll survive ‘til morning. Dam’ thing actually banged on the screen door or pecked it. I heard the noise and found it on the porch.
I’m sorry.......I’m not laughing at you, dyna. I’m just laughing at the situation. Thanks for lifting my day! ;-)
“I heard the noise and found it on the porch.”
Wait, you invited it in? Don’t you think you are sending mixed messages?

I doubt that any chicks will ever end up in my bed. But if they do, I’ll remember that line if my wife asks!”
if the rice was already cooked, it shouldn’t be a problem ;^)
I had a chicken that molted so severely that she was practically naked. It was getting kind of cold and so I brought her inside for a few weeks while her new feathers grew in. She spent nights in a cat cage in the utility room, and I let her out into the backyard during the days.
She would come to the back door at night to be let in, and each morning, she laid an egg on the door mat. She was such a friendly chicken that I actually thought about letting her stay as a house pet.
