Its time to get your Deacon and Gunnar fixtonight marks the return of ABCs Nashville. We at SL have come to love this show for its spotlight on Music City, its cameos, Connie Brittons amazing hair, and especially the music. Over the summer, we spent some time with the incredibly talented Erin McCarley for a Southern Living Biscuits & Jam session. This feisty, Texas-born singer-songwriter, known for her raw lyrics and electric hooks, also happens to be in Rayna Jaymess band on the show. Check out our Southern Minute interview with Erin belowand find out whether shes a Deacon or a Gunnar girl.

She couldn’t sing the son, destroyed the melody. But worse, of course she censored Jesus.
She changed the lyrics to remove Jesus.
Hank Williams wasn't afraid to say Jesus.
I wouldn’t have noticed that until you pointed it out. Thanks. My wife and I watch the show and the original music has been amazingly well done. Haven’t noticed any blatantly anti-Christian themes. Buddy Miller is the musical director of the show and he’s done an outstanding job so far. This video is not from the show as far as i can tell although this singer apparently plays a bit part (band member) in it.
Thanks Brother
I love that original recording. It meant a lot to me and still does.
Nice new talent in this gal.
She has a spark.
