If you're not familiar with what happened last Friday, HERE is a good place to start:
Sen. Ted Cruz holds his own against
‘prosecuting attorney’ Jay Leno [video]

Ted Cruz probably knew how he would be treated beforehand, as most guests do. To do otherwise risks the guest never going on again.

It was a good opportunity for Cruz to show his stuff and there’s no doubt that he impressed a lot of people.

I also tend to believe that conservatives want their politicians to be as tough as nails and capable of withstanding the forces of Hell.

Nothing “happened” to Leno. He’s always been a liberal democrat. His wife is a psycho feminazi witch who had her tubes tied, too bad, he always seemed to me to be the kind of guy who would want kids. But they would’ve been raised commie so I guess it was all for the best.

Now if you’re saying Leno was harsher towards Cruz than other Republicans who have been on his show, I can’t say, but the reason, if that’s true, isn’t hard to figure out.

I thought the entire episode was a disaster...Leno was like a machine gun, working from a list, obviously compiled by a bunch of his leftist looney-tune cohorts..he barely had time to came up for air. Cruz was calm in the face of leno’s attacks, but hardly had the ability to shine under such uncalled for circumstances. It made me uncomfortabe just viewing this. You can put a fork in leno as far as I’m concerned.

There was a post the other night on FR - arguing with a liberal is like playing chess with a pigeon - it was the perfect analogy.

I watched it rather than going asleep. I was impressed by the applause Cruz got as he walked on and made his point. Leno’s come backs didn’t bring out any wild response from the audience. The louder applause was on Cruz’s comments. Leno’s answers sounded like talking points from the WH.

Make no mistake, NBC/LENO IS AN A-HOLE. Google search THIS interesting coincidence:

When was it announced that Sen. Cruz would be on Leno's Tonight Show?
OCTOBER 30, 2013

When did the news of Cruz' father's statement "send 0bama back to Kenya" come out?
OCTOBER 31, 2013

Leading up to 2016 and Hillary, the media will HYPE 'progressive Christie' while CONDEMNING conservative Cruz. This is 'McCain vs. Obama' all over again. The media selects the Republican candidate, the Republicans don't.

After watching the videos, I was disgusted with Leno’s attitude .. but then when I read the Wikipedia report, I found out that Cruz wrote most of the legal paperwork for “Bush v. Gore”.

NO WONDER THE LEFT HATES CRUZ SO MUCH. It was Cruz’s work that helped Bush to win.

Somebody definitely let Leno know to be tough with Cruz .. but Cruz didn’t give in to Leno’s stupid questions. And, I’m surprised .. because lately (ever since he announced he was leaving the program) Leno has been dishing out a lot of stuff on the admin. But, considering the network the program was on, maybe a network person laid down the law; but I’m surprised Leno would feel pressured now.

The fix was in when he made Senator Cruz his “second” guest.

I don’t recall whether Cruz was also listed second from the first announcement.

Leno runs with the Lib/Rat crowd and he’s being himself. He says stuff that he thinks the Smart People who Run Things like to hear.

Like most of them, that means he gets wee-wee’d up by conservatives, especially “uppity” ones who occasionally fail to drag their knuckles and have most of their teeth.

Did you REALLY expect something different?

Hi, SoConPubbie!

Would you please PING your "Ted Cruz" list to this thread?

I know that this is MUCH less "serious" than your usual fare,
but I really think that we need to "control the narrative" --
since, in the words of Andrew Breitbart, "Politics is downstream from culture."
Thank you.

Leno can’t hang with his wife and friends if he doesn’t come in like a ball breaker onto the heinous Tea Party Ted Cruz. His tolerant liberal friends couldn’t tolerate it if he treated Ted Cruz as a human being. If he showed even the slightest respect or kindness, as he does with bit actresses and dog and pony shows, he would be thrown out of Hollywood onto his chin.

No harm, no foul. I thought it was great that Leno “challenged” Cruz (what a joke!). It gave Cruz a chance to explain to a nationwide audience what he was doing and why. Those questions may have seemed tough and unfair to some of our Freepers, but to Cruz, they were softball lobs, which he regularly hit out of the park. Leno did him a big favor with those questions. Do you think he is a secret Cruz in ‘16 supporter?

Senator Cruz did terrific on the Tonight Show. He stuck to his conservative message, which is a winning one. The audience also seemed to be behind Ted for the most part, which is a very encouraging sign. Cruz needs to keep taking his message directly to the American people in ways like this. I also like how he remains calm and unflappable, with no change in his demeanor. It is important to remain likable if you want to lead people, and Senator Cruz understands this.
