Yesterday’s fine snow is still sticking to the ground in southeast Wisconsin. The grass is poking through, although it is nothing to be alarmed about. Nobody’s complaining, or whining, as you accuse Minnesotans. If it continues to stick, the hunters will like it. Deer season opens in 2 weeks in Wisconsin, and snow makes it easer to track them.

My husband leaves Sunday for Missouri to get a headstart on deer season where he hunts on a private preserve. He doesn’t hunt Wisconsin on public land anymore after 6 hunters were murdered by that crazy Hmong fellow from Minnesota.

I will have a hunter in my back yard, however. We give permission for a trusted man to hunt our land every year. He gets 3 adjoining landowners to sign off, and nobody else can come in here. He sent me trail cam pictures the other day of 2 huge bucks out by my old apple tree in the thicket. The pictures surprised me because I rarely see an antlered deer. Only the fawns and does allow themselves to be observed.

I saw a gorgeous buck out last week with a doe nearby. It’s snowing here right now but nothing is supposed to stick. Treadmill day.
