Hitler was furious. He wasn't ready for war with the US. But his ALLIE forced his hand by attacking Pearl.
After the Nipponese sprung their "surprise" on Pearl (caught Adolph by the shorts too) he had no choice but to declare war on the US, even though he was not ready and wanted to wait for another year.
OTH, some of the German "wonder weapons" really were out there.
Another year or two, the Germans would have brought the war to mainland USA in a really ugly way.
