So what would be reasonable? Says he has prior convictions but has never spent a day in jail so its apparent that probation wouldn’t work.

I personally would think 5 years would be reasonable. After all a welder isn’t exactly a stick of gum.

A welder is also somebodies livelihood. A welder with a welding machine is out of work. This is not just a “power tool”

5 years and actually doing the full sentence. it wasn’t a stick of gum, it was expensive and someone else’s livelihood tool, and he had priors.

It seems the SOB never learned his lesson in the traditional justice system.
