Thats the one, Thanks! Paul was awarded the DFC for attacking (F4U Corsair pilot) and sinking a number of the Japanese troop barges trying to land on Bougainville.
You're welcome. One of my Great-Uncles was a Marine Raider in WWII. He was wounded badly on Bougainville. Spent the rest of the war convalescing in Hawaii. His brother, who was in the Navy, would just as soon shoot you if you showed up in a Japanese car at his place (this was in the 70s). The last time I talked with my uncle, he showed me pictures of his time in. Talked a bit about it (apparently, I was one of the only people he ever talked to about it outside his fellow Raiders). I was going through Air Force Survival School in Spokane, WA. He lived there, and picked me up to take me to dinner. It's interesting, he never held a grudge. He was driving an Accord.
