Canadian conservatives wrought havoc on the gun registry in Canada until it was finally taken down.
Your statement is a bit misleading, because there was no hacking or cyber-shenanigans involved.
We simply engaged in a long, non-stop anti-gun-registry campaign of political criticism. And it helped, but the real killer was a combination of price and time - initially promised by the Liberals in 1993 to cost "only" $285 million, after 10 years it still wasn't working and the cost had ballooned to over $2 billion (that's $2000 million).
At that point, the public had had enough and threw the Liberals out. The new Parliament, responding to public sentiment, ended the registry permanently.

Eh, I have relatives in Antigonish that busily signed up all the local leftists registering nonexistent guns. I have one cousin what did it more or less as a hobby.
