Was wondering how long it would be before they got around to this myself.
Looks like astronomy is going to become PCed.
No “Black Holes”. (Will have to change the name of the really good Disney movie from “Black Hole” to “Dark Hole” unless that is racially sexist.
No skies as black as coal.
No nights as black as coal.
No black cats.
Tar will no longer be described as black because it might refer to a distant reference to a “tar baby” in an Uncle Remus story.
Then the LaBrea Tar Pit will be known as the LaBreaStickyPit.
The movie “Pitch Black” will now be known as “Pitch Dark” but “pitch” is another world for “tar/asphalt” which is black as in the above mentioned LaBrea Tar Pit” and “Tar Baby”. Therefore “tar pits” are racist; “tar” is racist; and “Pitch Black” is racist.
Also, “Dark” is a code word for “darky” which is racist so the movie will have to be renamed again from “Pitch Black” to “Pitch Dark” to “Sticky Stuff you can’t see in a place without light” - starring Vin Diesel and Claudia Black (Opps, got to change her name to Claudia Absence of Light (Loved her in “Farscape”).
Any movie or show called “The Dark” will now have to be called “The Absence of Light” and “Johnny Darko” will become “Johnny Absence of Light”.
The “Dark Ages” will know be known as the “Absence of Light Ages”.
A “dark tunnel” or “cave” will also be “a tunnel or cave with the absence of light”.
“Dark-Outs” will be known as “a time when there is the absence of light”.
Since the ink/print that this comment is written in appears as “black” , it will now be renamed as “written letters whose color is that which is the absence of light”. No “black ink” here, honkies!
There is no limit to the sheer stupidity of Political Correctness and those who practice it.
I wish we could “Black Out” these idiots from society. We could then resume shining light on intelligence and rationality.
