I appreciate having made the story available to new generations. Staging anything on tv pales in comparison to a movie theater but I applaud NBC for giving it a shot.

My wife and youngest daughter (4th one) knew the songs, but neither had ever actually seen the movie. My third daughter and I have both seen the movie once or twice; although it has been MANY years since I last watched "The Sound of Music."

I told my wife that the only reason she knows the songs is because she heard them in the background, while she was staring at Vin Diesel in "The Pacifier." LOL!

That’s so funny! I find it amazing when one of my daughter’s knows the words to songs I played in the car when they were very young. And they love them!
