I’m partial to the ‘06, but it usually doesn’t come in a platform suited for SHTF like the more manuverable and higher capacity AR/AK guns.

What makes a platform more suitable for SHTF? I would suggest that maneuverability and high capacity are no more important post-SHTF than pre. Books, movies, etc, about a SHTF scenario always include lots of combat because that makes for a good story, and gardening, canning, using candles and making rabbit snares do not.

In reality, unless we are talking about an extreme, permanent cataclysm, I submit that post-SHTF you will not find cause to fire a shot in anger.
