That’s pretty neat.
That is SO kewl !
Got rid of those no good devils, too. Terminex needs to hire more artists.
Merry Christmas !
I loved seeing the smoke rise from the dead fire ants. If this works for killing off a mound, it might be worth it. After a few works of art, you can just recycle the aluminum.
Or sell it for thousands on eBay.....................
I love the smell of fire ant in the morning, smells like victory.
We used to pour gasoline on them when I was a kid in Valdosta GA. No, we didn’t light it. The survivors would just build a new bed about five feet away.
I’m sure a stiff letter of protest will be coming from PETA shortly. As someone who has suffered from a fire ant attack, I for one, have no sympathy whatsoever! Pour baby pour and let the smoke rise!
Wrap a string of lights around that and you’re all set for Christmas!
We have fire ants here in northwest Florida, as well. I was working in my yard one day and did not notice I had disturbed a mound. Then all of a sudden they all bit at the same time on my legs, (I believe it’s some kind of chemical trigger mechanism that synchronizes the bite attack), I actually felt dizzy for a few minutes and had to sit down until it had passed.
Back in the early 90’s a ten year old girl died from a fire ant attack near here.........................
We now have ‘Caribbean Crazy Ants’ here. They seem to drive out the fire ants. They bite, but not like fire ants, just regular ants, no blisters or pus bumps. They swarm all over my garden and patio like ‘crazy’. They just seem to run around in circles in no apparent pattern, just like a disturbed mound. I don’t mind them nearly as much, as they are pollinators...............
People Eating Tasty Animals will be apoplectic with rage over this. I predict gallons of blood will be shed just from the wringing of their chapped winter hands over the unjustifiable murder of so many precious, uh, ah, uh, (consults book) ANTS! That’s it! Those poor defenseless fire ants!
At last the little b@stards are good for something. Art, if nothing else.
Thanks for posting!
You can cast a ghost crab burrow similar to that by filling it up with insulating foam, letting it harden and dig it out of the sand.Amazing how these critters engineer the these habitats without blueprints.
Those buggers will migrate to your air conditioner circuits in cold days. They get so many in one place they short it out.
