Notice the front sight ring is also different.
In the picture it appears they replaced the foregrip with a Picatinny rail and put one up top for scope mounting as well. The stock is different as well, but all in all, the receiver looks identical.
I would’ve made the same assumptions seeing those two pics, BCW, and I thank you for the spirited discussion.
I’ve should have notice the carrying grip...this is what happens when one removes themselves from these weapon systems and gets a bit older... :D
