Did 145+ in a rented Audi A8 on the Autobahn south of Innsbruck once. When the big Mercedes and the BMW blew my doors off passing me at that speed, I decided to slow to around 100 for the rest of the trip.
I did 100 mph less than that in an old military 3/4 ton. I never got out of the right lane.
I was 18, just out of HS and was in Germany for the Bayreuth Festival. Family had a Mercedes 300E... and I was allowed to drive on the Autobahn... I maxxed out at 205 km/h. I was a kid and boy was it a white knuckle ride. I had Lamborghinis and Porsches flashing their lights wanting to overtake me. I slowed down and got back in the slow lane where I belonged.
