Was trying to find out if there any USAF units solely dedicated to dropping nuclear test bombs in the Pacific and Nevada.
thanks a lot
Just got a text message and link from my brother on this......4925th Test Group.
Got some research to do. Dad is trying to get in touch with some old Air Force buddies who served in that unit (he forgot the unit’s designation...his mind is slipping). He’s trying to arrange one last reunion.

Your going to have to go through Kirtland AFB.
They have all the areas listed. My area was the Tonopah Range.
Knowledge of most of this activity is still classified. See what Kirtland can provide.
Christmas Atoll (sp?) comes to mind. Air dropped test, with live unprotected observers directly below. I kid you not. Videos exist, find them.
Kwaj and places like that are not free for discussion.
that's where they should drop it....pre-warn him....if he can catch it, it won't go off!!!
underground nuke testing ended over a decade ago.
Hmm, I think Kwaj is public knowledge now is it not?
a black tie affair? did waiters circulate with trays of refreshments?
Very cool documentary. How did you run across it?
Don’t forget the 4 H-bombs the USAF dropped on Spain...the Palomares incident in ‘66.
I found that YT channel by accident. Lot’s of good documentaries there.
