WHo the F do they think they are anyways that they should be a special group of people, set apart, “protected” from having their little feelings hurt by someone else expressing free thought...thought that used to be majority think. Thought that has it’s basis in the foundation of one of the world’s largest religions. I’m sick of their militancy. I’m tired of the FAD of straight people needing to be seen as pro-gay in order to feel trendy and fit in. Folks need to stop with the wishy-washy bullcrap. The Duck Dynasty guy didn’t call for violence against anyone, didn’t target a certain person, didn’t incite hate. He stated his belief’opinion based upon his spiritual viewpoint. But a material worldy world cannot “tolerate” that huh?

I grew up in a black neighborhood on the east side of Youngstown, Ohio, in the 50’s and 60’s. My friends were black, 90% of them and I NEVER had a problem with any of them. Sure, childhood disagreements, arguments, etc., but by the time the day was over, we were best buds again. Come the mid to late 60’s though (beginning of the civil rights movement), all of a sudden I was the bad guy because I was white and, in their mind, now an oppressor. I got into a lot of bad scrapes at that time, each escalating. My parents finally moved us out of there in ‘69.

What p*ssed me off though, was, these were my friends, my buds, who I NEVER felt superior to because they were black. It was a sad time for me.

I did a search for “GLAAD-baggers” and was not able to find the term on google (which I rarely use) so I assume it is new.

Not that it will matter to some Freepers, but someone once said "It is better to light a lamp than curse the darkness." How can you expect to fight the enemy if you don't know who they are? Wikipedia is a good 2nd stop on the internet for basic information on most things even in this fast paced society. Yes, Wikipedia entries can be very biased and incomplete. But you have to figure that out on your own over time - its called wisdom.

Back on 3/17/2013 GLAAD hosted its 24th GLAAD Media Awards ceremony in NYC where 54 year-old pop diva Madonna wore a Cub Scout uniform to present CNN's Anderson Cooper with the Vito Russo Award, which goes to an openly gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equality.

Conservative volunteers in the BSA have known of GLAAD for some time now. GLAAD played a significant role and getting the BSA to change its membership rule to admit open homosexual youths into Scouting.

Yes, I knew that at one time, and I knew that it’s easily searchable. That’s why, in a reply off the top of my head, it’s not part of the info to which I choose to sacrifice my remaining middle-aged brain cells :) Memorizing acronyms of no relevance to my own life, which I can easily google if needed, isn’t on the season’s menu.

But thank you for the info. I guessd that the “gay” and “lesbian” were in there somewhere, and that said enough for me.
