What happened... did he father a child? It sounds like grounds for a lawsuit. He made a very poor choice. No. His immune system saw his loose sperm as an invading infection and attacked. He was in pain and I imagine mental distress. His doctors should have found a medical solution. Instead they stonewalled him. At least that's what it looks like to me.
