Please don't place the two organizations in the same league.While they may use similar tactics,MADD does important work eliminating drunk driving,which kills tens of thousands per year and for which there's NO excuse.Firearm ownership,OTOH,has a number of good "excuses",the best being the Second Amendment.
And yes,my family *has* been devastated by a drunk driver.It will be 26 years ago,tomorrow,that we buried my 18 year old niece (and her boyfriend) who were killed by a drunk driver who was "very well known" to the local police.
Sorry. I see them as the same. I do not believe MADD was always the alcohol Nazis, but they ended up that way.

MADD has gone completely over the edge of rationality.
An organization that started out helping make reasonable and necessary changes and then, when mission is essentially achieved, morphs into a fascist monster. MADD is just insane now.
